Guwahati, 10 October (HS): Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia has expressed gratitude to the voters of Nagaon following the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Debashish Sharma in the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election. He also congratulated Sharma on his victory by a significant margin.
Saikia said the mandate reflected the confidence of the people of Nagaon in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the development-oriented governance of Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. He described the result as an expression of the trust reposed by the people in the BJP-led government.
“Debashish Sharma has consistently worked as a dedicated and responsible public servant to address the problems of Nagaon and promote its development. The party is confident that he will strongly raise the concerns of the people of Nagaon in Parliament and accelerate the overall development of the constituency,” Saikia said.
According to a statement issued by Assam BJP spokesperson Manas Sarania on Saturday, Saikia also acknowledged the efforts of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, whose participation in five election rallies contributed to the party’s campaign.
The BJP state president expressed gratitude to party workers, NDA leaders and workers, and voters for their continued support and efforts during the election.
Reaffirming the party’s commitment, Saikia said the BJP would continue working with dedication towards maintaining peace and harmony and ensuring the overall progress of Assam.------------
