Mumbai, 10 Oct (HS): The Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi staged agitation in support of

CJP’s demand of resignation by CEC Gyanesh Kumar, At Hutatma Chowk, Mumbai, on

Saturday. Police detained over 50 participants of the agitation and their

leaders. VBA leaders alleged that the government is trying to suppress their

agitation.

Those

detained include Mumbai Unit President Snehal Sohoni, Sagar Gavai, Chetan

Ahire. The party leaders have alleged that women workers were mishandled by the

police. Jyoti Sonwane has alleged that police inappropriately touched her and

torn her clothes. An offence has been registered in this connection.

The

VBA workers raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home

Minister Amit Shah and alleged Dictatorship in the country.
