
Delhi/Mumbai, 1 October (H.S.): An X account claiming to be created today and operated by Captain Smit Macchhar, the Indian Flydubai captain injured during a cockpit incident on a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight, was created on Thursday and posted a message thanking people for their prayers and support. The authenticity of the newly created account has not been independently confirmed.
In the message, Macchhar thanked people for their prayers, support and good wishes during the difficult period. He said he was grateful to everyone who had stood by him and continued to pray for his recovery.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who stood by me, supported me, and kept me in your prayers, Macchhar said in the message.
The captain also expressed gratitude to those who had supported him and his family following the incident.
Macchhar was injured on Wednesday after an altercation broke out in the cockpit of Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The aircraft was diverted to Tabuk in Saudi Arabia, where the injured pilot received emergency medical treatment.
He was later airlifted to Dubai for further treatment. Officials said he was in a stable condition, while his family reached Dubai following the incident.
The incident occurred after a confrontation in the cockpit during the flight. The aircraft landed safely in Tabuk after the diversion, while an investigation into the incident is underway.
