New Delhi, 01 October (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and several other political leaders on Thursday extended birthday greetings to former President Ram Nath Kovind, praising his public service and commitment to constitutional values.

PM Modi, in a post on X, wished Kovind on his birthday and highlighted his long contribution to public life. He said Kovind had remained committed to India’s development, the values enshrined in the Constitution and the welfare of the people throughout his public career.

PM Modi also praised Kovind’s service to the country, describing it as marked by dedication, enthusiasm and simplicity. He wished the former president good health, happiness and a long life.

Birla said Kovind had established a distinctive identity in public life through his simplicity, commitment to constitutional values, sense of duty and concern for social issues. He described Kovind’s life as an example of continued service and dedication and wished him longevity, good health, peace and a fulfilling life.

Rajnath Singh highlighted Kovind’s long contribution to society and the nation. He said the former president’s wide-ranging knowledge and views on various subjects had influenced many people, while his experience in public life and simplicity remained particularly noteworthy.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah said Kovind’s journey from a modest family background to the country’s highest constitutional office was inspiring. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also extended his greetings and prayed for Kovind’s good health, longevity and well-being.
