Guwahati, 01 October (HS): The monthly Sainik Sammelan for September 2026 was held at the Battalion Campus, Sonapur, on Thursday under the guidance of Kh. Ibouchouba Singh, Second-in-Command and Officiating Commandant of the 1st Battalion Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur.

The Sammelan began with the SSB Song. Thereafter, Virendra Singh Mehra, Deputy Commandant and Quartermaster, reviewed the issues raised during the previous Sammelan and apprised the Officiating Commandant of the progress made in addressing them.

Personnel who had rendered outstanding and commendable service were felicitated with Appreciation and Commendation Certificates. Inspector (Ministerial) Rajendra Prasad was presented a Commendation Certificate in recognition of his outstanding performance and contribution.

Addressing the officers and personnel, Singh stressed the importance of mutual understanding, coordination and effective communication among all ranks. He said the Sainik Sammelan provides a platform for personnel to directly place their problems, difficulties and suggestions before the Commandant or Officiating Commandant for appropriate action as per rules.

He urged all personnel to remain alert, vigilant and dedicated to their duties and responsibilities. He also emphasized that regular activities and coordinated efforts are essential for maintaining security, discipline and operational efficiency of the Battalion.

Various suggestions and grievances raised by personnel during the Sammelan were heard, following which concerned officers were directed to take necessary action. The Officiating Commandant called upon all ranks to perform their duties with discipline, dedication, commitment and mutual cooperation.

The Sammelan concluded with Vande Mataram and the National Anthem. The programme aimed to strengthen communication between officers and personnel, facilitate grievance redressal, and enhance welfare, discipline and overall efficiency of the Battalion.If you want, I can also make this in a shorter HS agency format with a sharper headline.------------
