(HS): The state government has issued revised GR relating to drought situation
to include 43 more tehsils in the list of drought-affected 265 tehsils declared
earlier. At the same time it has stayed recovery of crop loans in the affected
regions and directed the authorities concerned to extend fresh loans to the
farmers. The total number of drought-affected tehsils in the state has gone to
308 out of a total 358 across 36 districts.
The revised crop
loan system should be revised by the banks, and the procedure should be
completed before 30th April, 2027. The farmers should be extended
loan facility for the coming Kharip season, the GR says.
The Drought
Relief Committee headed by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has
directed all the banks to stop recovery of loans from farmers. The instructions
have also been issued for the police authorities and the district collectors.
The fees for educational
purpose have been waived for wards of the farmers appearing for SSC and HSC
examinations.
