Hooghly, 01 October (H.S.): Repair and renovation work has begun on 18 important roads in Arambagh town ahead of Durga Puja, with the aim of improving mobility for residents and visitors during the festive season. Steps are also being taken to address drainage-related issues in different wards of the town.

On Thursday, Arambagh MLA Hemanta Bag inspected several roads where repair work is currently underway. He reviewed the progress of the work and discussed the quality and pace of the repairs with the officials and workers concerned.

The MLA said the road repair work is being expedited so that residents do not face difficulties in commuting during the Puja period. The renovation of roads that have remained in poor condition for a long time is expected to provide relief to commuters.

Hemanta Bag also inspected the drainage system in various wards of Arambagh. Areas prone to waterlogging and locations with inadequate drainage were reviewed on the ground. Steps are being taken to begin drain repair and improvement work wherever necessary.

With administrative efforts increasing ahead of Puja, residents are expecting improvements in both road conditions and drainage facilities.
