(HS): Eight students of a private tuition class in Pune’s Alandi area, drowned off

the sea in Diweagar a picnic spot in Raigad district. The students had gone for

a pectin on Thursday and drowned as they could not anticipate depth and the

force of waves. They were students of Winners Coaching Centre.

The employees of

Mahakali Water Sport operating on the beach tried to save them, but their

attempt failed to rescue them alive. The bodies of all eight students were

recovered.

Police and local

administration have initiated further action.
