New Delhi, 01 October (H.S.): The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on Aam Aadmi Party leader Naresh Balyan for failing to present arguments on the framing of charges in a case registered under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Special Judge Prashant Kumar directed Balyan to present his arguments on October 16 and 17.

During the hearing on Thursday, counsel representing Naresh Balyan submitted that a lawyer was not available to present the arguments. The Delhi Police opposed the request for an adjournment.

The court noted that the proceedings had previously been adjourned on the ground that counsel for Naresh Balyan was unavailable. Subsequently, the court imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 and directed him to present his arguments on October 16 and 17.

The court also made it clear that this would be the final opportunity for Balyan to present his arguments.
