New Delhi, 01 October (H.S.): BJP MP and national spokesperson Sambit Patra praised the bravery of Smit Machchhar and questioned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his alleged failure to post about the incident.

Patra asked why Rahul Gandhi had not tweeted about the incident. He said he did not want to politicise the issue, but maintained that there was always a reason behind Rahul Gandhi’s decision to act or not act on a particular issue.

The BJP MP claimed that “appeasement” could also be a factor behind Rahul Gandhi’s stance. According to Patra, appeasement remains a significant factor in one way or another in several issues.

He said he had seen on social media and in news reports that people across the country had wished Smit Machchhar a speedy recovery and expressed their gratitude for his bravery.

Sambit Patra said Smit Machchhar had helped save the lives of around 180 to 200 people. He added that Indians had congratulated him and prayed for his recovery in their own ways.
