New Delhi, 01 October (H.S.): The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday conducted an extensive cleanliness drive across all 256 mandals in the national capital to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday and the completion of 25 years of his public service. Under the “Seva Mera Yogdan–Swachhata Shramdaan” campaign, BJP workers carried out voluntary cleanliness activities at around 2,470 locations across Delhi, spreading the message of cleanliness and civic responsibility. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, along with MPs, ministers, MLAs, municipal councillors, and party office-bearers at the state, district and mandal levels, participated in the campaign.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in cleanliness activities organised in Timarpur and at Kamla Nehru Ridge. Meanwhile, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra took part in a shramdaan drive in Geeta Colony. Ramvir Singh Bidhuri participated in the campaign in East of Kailash, Parvesh Sahib Singh at Hanuman Temple, Ashish Sood on Pankha Road, Kapil Mishra in Karawal Nagar and Yogendra Chandolia in Dev Nagar.

Similarly, MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat participated in a shramdaan activity in Dwarka, Praveen Khandelwal at Ajmeri Gate and Bansuri Swaraj in Moti Nagar. Satish Upadhyay took part in the cleanliness drive in Green Park, Yogita Singh at Deshbandhu Apartments, Rajesh Bhatia in Rajendra Nagar, Praveen Shankar Kapoor in Chandni Chowk and Suman Kumar Gupta in Yamuna Bazaar. In addition, Anil Gupta participated in the campaign in Rohtas Nagar, Surya Prakash Khatri in Timarpur, Ajay Mahawar in Ghonda, while Shikha Rai and Anjum Mandal took part in the shramdaan drive in Greater Kailash.

On the occasion, Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made service, good governance and the welfare of the poor the core principles of politics during his 25 years of public life. He said Swachh Bharat is Prime Minister Modi’s vision, adding that service is his spiritual pursuit and that service, organisation and dedication remain his guiding principles.

He said BJP workers had pledged, through shramdaan, to make Delhi cleaner, greener and healthier. He described one hour of voluntary service as an important step towards achieving the goal of a Swachh Bharat and urged everyone to embrace the spirit of service exemplified by the Prime Minister and work towards making Delhi a model of Viksit Bharat.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that, as part of the Seva Sankalp campaign being organised to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, she participated in the “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” Swachhata Hi Seva campaign at Kamla Nehru Ridge and inspected the ongoing cleaning and repair works there.

The Chief Minister said that when Delhi moves forward unitedly, the scale of change is also far greater. Thousands of Swachhagrahis and volunteers have given fresh momentum to the vision of a clean Delhi through their labour and service, she said. Expressing gratitude to everyone associated with the campaign, she called for continued collective efforts to make Delhi cleaner, more beautiful and healthier.
