Guwahati, 01 October (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday took a dig at Congress MP Rakibul Hussain over his reported remarks about chicken biryani during campaigning for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election.

Sarma said while talking to media persons that while a child’s first food after birth is generally considered to be the mother’s milk, Hussain was an exception, referring to the Congress leader’s alleged remark about having chicken biryani.

The Chief Minister’s statement came amid a series of verbal exchanges between the two leaders during the by-election campaign. Sarma has previously targeted Hussain over remarks concerning food preferences, including pulao and meat, while also making allegations related to the implementation of government schemes in Nagaon.

The exchanges have added a sharper political tone to the campaign for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election, scheduled for October 6.-----------
