Mumbai, 01 October (H.S.): Ajay Devgn-starrer much-awaited film ‘Drishyam 3’ is set to hit theatres on October 2. The makers have described the film as the final instalment of the ‘Drishyam’ franchise. In a recent interview, Ajay revealed that he had also spoken to Mohanlal about the film.
Ajay said he called Mohanlal and urged him to watch the film, as he wanted the actor’s approval. However, Mohanlal has not yet been able to watch the film as he is currently on holiday. Ajay expressed hope that he would watch it soon.
Ajay also spoke about the decision to bring the franchise to an end. He said it was not easy to take forward a story like ‘Drishyam’ and that he wanted to conclude the franchise at a strong point. According to the actor, he recently watched the film and personally found it even better than ‘Drishyam 2’. Ajay said developing the screenplay was a considerable challenge. He felt the story should continue directly from where the previous film ended, rather than introducing a new murder mystery simply to extend the franchise.
Ajay revealed that the writers and director worked on around four different screenplays before arriving at the final story. Their objective was not merely to make another sequel on the strength of the previous film’s success, but to create a story that would evolve naturally within the world of ‘Drishyam’. After several rounds of work on the story and screenplay, the team arrived at a script featuring the necessary twists, turns and unexpected developments. The film will now reach audiences on October 2.
