Bhubaneswar, 01 October (H.S.): The Odisha government has revised the effective date of regularisation of Junior Teachers (Schematic) recruited during 2023-24, ordering their regularisation as Assistant Teachers with effect from January 1, 2026.
The School and Mass Education Department, in a notification issued on Wednesday, stated that Junior Teachers appointed through the prescribed recruitment process and continuing in service will be regularised as Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) of the Elementary Cadre, subject to fulfilment of the stipulated conditions.
The latest notification supersedes the department’s earlier order issued on April 2, 2026, regarding the regularisation of Junior Teachers.
According to the notification, the period of service rendered by the teachers from their respective dates of initial joining up to December 31, 2025, will be treated as service rendered in a schematic or contractual capacity. This period will not be counted towards regular cadre seniority or entitle the teachers to any consequential benefits of regular service for the period preceding their regularisation.
However, the teachers covered under the order will be entitled to regular pay and other admissible service benefits applicable to Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) with effect from January 1, 2026, subject to applicable government rules and instructions.
The notification was issued by the School and Mass Education Department on October 1, 2026, and directed to be published in an extraordinary issue of the Odisha Gazette.
