New Delhi, 09 January (H.S.):

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the National IED Data Management System (NIDMS), an AI-enabled platform developed by the National Security Guard (NSG), via virtual mode on Friday, declaring it a robust fortification for India's internal security. This national repository will aggregate, analyze, and disseminate real-time Improvised Explosive Device (IED) data from across the country to security agencies, enabling preemptive disruption of terror threats.

The minister extolled NSG as the bedrock of national security, crediting its valor, specialized skills, and unwavering dedication for instilling public confidence. He emphasized that NIDMS will furnish a novel protective shield by facilitating meticulous analysis of IED-linked terror incidents, their prevention, and swift countermeasures.

It is a matter of immense pride that NIDMS launches today; it will prove invaluable in dissecting every explosives-related terror event in India, Shah stated.

As part of the National Bomb Data Centre (NBDC), NIDMS centralizes fragmented case files into a shared digital vault, granting online, bidirectional access to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), state police, central armed police forces, and counter-terror units.

Investigators can now retrieve scattered data with a single click, discern 'signature links' across bombings, detect event patterns and trends, and devise proactive mitigation strategies—all pivotal for thwarting future assaults.

Shah hailed NSG as India's world-class zero-error force, continuously evolving since its 1984 inception through rigorous global terror case studies to meet emerging challenges. He highlighted ongoing NSG hub expansions in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Ayodhya, ensuring rapid deployment to any crisis within 1.5 hours nationwide.

The government affirmed NIDMS's progressive enhancement, fortifying India's IED deterrence, internal security framework, and battle against terrorism and insurgency.
