
Prayagraj, 09 Jan (HS): Durgvijay Yadav a research scholar of the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), Prayagraj, successfully completed the final oral examination for the award of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Soil Science.
His research work, entitled “Effect of Various Level of NPK, Biofertilizers and Organic Manure on Soil Health, Yield and Nutrient Uptake by Baby Corn (Zea mays L)”, was accepted as an essential requirement for the said degree. The research was carried out under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Arun Alfred David, Professor, Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, SHUATS.
The study revealed that the integrated application of chemical fertilizers (NPK), biofertilizers, and organic manure significantly improves soil health, crop yield, and nutrient uptake in baby corn, thereby promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.
The findings of the research are expected to be highly beneficial for farmers, soil scientists, and agricultural extension professionals.
