BJP Protesters Storm AAP Office Over Atishi's Alleged Sikh Guru Insult

New Delhi, 09 January (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party unleashed a vociferous demonstration Friday outside the Aam Aadmi Party headquarters, protesting Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition Atishi's purported disrespectful remarks against the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh Sahib.

The agitation commenced near Le Meridien Hotel, where Delhi BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Yogendra Chandoliya, Vishnu Mittal, and national spokesperson Sardar RP Singh mobilized thousands of party workers who converged chanting slogans demanding Atishi's public apology.

BJP cadres accused her of gravely wounding Sikh community sentiments during Winter Session discussions marking the 350th anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur's martyrdom.

Escalating Calls for Resignation and Disqualification

The controversy erupted in the Delhi Legislative Assembly when Atishi allegedly made derogatory comments amid tributes to the Guru's sacrifice, prompting BJP to brand it a profound affront warranting her immediate disqualification as MLA alongside unconditional atonement.

Party leaders vowed sustained pressure, underscoring the remarks' potential to inflame inter-community tensions in the national capital.
