Chennai, 08 January (H.S.) : KAUVERY HOSPITAL and the TAMIL NADU SENIORS TENNIS CLUB (TNSTC) successfully organised an Open Tennis Tournament specifically designed for senior citizens on January 3 and 4 at the YMCA Grounds in Nandanam. The two-day sporting event witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 210 senior tennis players from Chennai and surrounding regions.

Matches were conducted across various age categories, ranging from 45 years to over 75 years, highlighting a growing passion for competitive sports and physical activity among the elderly population. The tournament featured seven distinct categories for both singles and doubles, providing a comprehensive platform for participants to demonstrate their skills and engage in social interaction.

The administrative authority from KAUVERY HOSPITAL stated that the primary objective of the tournament was to promote healthy and active aging through physical fitness and mental well-being. Dr. SINGARAVADIVELU V, a senior orthopaedic surgeon at KAUVERY HOSPITAL ALWARPET, graced the valedictory function and presented awards to the winners.

He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for fostering a sense of camaraderie and maintaining an active lifestyle in the later years of life. Participants expressed their appreciation for the seamless organization and high-quality facilities provided during the event.
