New Delhi, 08 January (H.S.): Domestic bullion markets witnessed sharp gains in silver prices on Thursday, with increases ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹4,000 per kilogram across major trading centers. Silver traded between ₹2,56,900 and ₹2,72,100 per kilogram nationwide.
Delhi's bullion market recorded the steepest jump of ₹4,000, pushing the white metal to ₹2,57,100 per kilogram. Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata saw silver at ₹2,56,900 per kilogram, while Jaipur, Surat, and Pune quoted ₹2,57,200 per kilogram. Bengaluru registered ₹2,57,400 per kilogram, Patna and Bhubaneswar hovered at ₹2,57,000 per kilogram, Hyderabad climbed ₹1,000 to ₹2,71,900 per kilogram, and Chennai commanded the highest at ₹2,72,100 per kilogram after a ₹1,000 rise.
Recent volatility defined the metal's trajectory: Chennai silver peaked at ₹2,75,000 per kilogram on December 28 before profit-taking dragged it to ₹2,54,900 per kilogram. Escalating US-Venezuela tensions propelled a swift recovery near prior highs. Market experts anticipate this upward momentum persisting in coming days.
