Guwahati, 7 January (HS): Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia on Wednesday said the Viksit Bharat Rozgar aur Aajeevika Mission–Grameen (VB G–RAM–G) would usher in a new and historic phase of rural development by ensuring assured employment for the rural poor in line with the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047.”

Addressing a press conference at the state BJP headquarters, Saikia said the scheme, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals, aims at comprehensive and sustainable rural growth. He added that employment under the scheme would be increased from 100 days to 125 days, with provisions to balance agricultural labour needs.

Saikia said northeastern states, including Assam, would receive central funding in a 90:10 ratio and claimed that stronger monitoring mechanisms, including technology-based oversight, would prevent irregularities witnessed during the Congress regime.-----------
