Shahjahanpur,

07 Jan (HS): A report has been filed under the NDPS Act at Tilhar police

station in Shahjahanpur against Farman, son of Maulana Tauqeer Raza, the main

accused in the Bareilly riots. Half a gram of crystal meth was recovered from

him. Farman, son of Maulana Tauqeer Raza, the main accused in the September

26th riots in Bareilly, is highly educated. He recently returned to the country

after completing his MBA from Australia. His name has not been involved in any

controversy so far. This is the first time he has been detained by the police.

A report has been filed against him under the NDPS Act at Tilhar police station

in Shahjahanpur in connection with the seizure of crystal meth.

According

to sources, Farman Raza Khan, Maulana Tauqeer Raza's only son, stayed away from

religious education and madrasa education. He received his early education in

convent schools, and then the Maulana sent him to Australia to pursue an MBA.

After graduating from there, Farman returned long ago, living sometimes in

Delhi and sometimes in his Bareilly residence. Farman's hobbies include going

on trips with friends and traveling in expensive cars. He is now a drug addict,

a fact he has admitted.

Farman,

a resident of Mohalla Biharipur in the Kotwali police station area of

Bareilly, was driving his car towards Bareilly on Tuesday night. His car

collided with a bus parked in front of the Kachiani Kheda Hanuman Temple on the

Lucknow-Delhi Highway in the Tilhar area of Shahjahanpur. Trapped in the car,

Farman was pulled out by people. He was extremely distraught after the

collision. However, he was not seriously injured in the accident. Upon

receiving the information, SP Rural Diksha Bhanware Arun reached the police

station and investigated.

Half

a gram of drugs was found in the packet: Farman was very nervous after the

accident. Suspicious, the police asked him to open the trunk of the car, but he

refused, making the excuse that the keys were lying somewhere. Later, when the

police showed strictness, he opened the trunk. Crystal drugs were recovered

from the bag kept in the trunk. SP Rural Diksha Bhanware Arun said that half a

gram of crystal drugs was found in a packet with Farman. On questioning, Farman

told that he had bought one gram of drugs from Delhi for personal use. He had

already used half a gram. His medical examination was done the same night. Late

in the night, the police registered a report against Farman under the NDPS Act

on the instructions of the Tilhar police station in-charge.
