Kolkata, 07 January (H.S.): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid tribute to the martyrs of the Netai incident on Wednesday through a post on the social media platform 'X'. She wrote that she offers her humble respects and salutations to the martyrs of Netai.

The Chief Minister said in her post that on this day in 2011, nine innocent people lost their lives in the violence in Netai village of Jhargram district. Remembering the incident, she expressed her deep condolences and respect for all the martyrs of Netai.

Mamata Banerjee said that the sacrifice of all those martyrs of Netai can never be forgotten. She also expressed her condolences to their families and said that this day reminds us to stand united against violence and in favour of peace and humanity.
