07 Jan (HS): On Wednesday morning, the body of a young man was found hanging

from a tree in the Bahadurpur Canal House complex, located on the border of the

Rampura and Kuthaund police station areas in Orai, Uttar Pradesh. Police from

both police stations arrived on the scene and conducted an investigation.

Meanwhile, the Rampura police station has taken the body into custody and is

taking further action.

Circle Officer Ambuj Yadav said that the deceased has been identified as Mata

Prasad (35), son of Duju Pal, a resident of village Bilounha, Kuthaund police

station. Investigation revealed that the deceased Mata Prasad had a previous

family dispute with his wife, Praveshi, which was resolved through a family

court a few months ago. Since then, he had been living with his wife in Orai,

earning a living through manual labour. Some children saw the body hanging from

a Mahua tree inside the boundary of Bahadurpur Canal Inspection Building, after

which they informed the villagers.

Police

arrived at the scene after receiving information from villagers. The deceased's

two brothers, Raju and Virendra, live in the same village, Bilounha. The

deceased has a 13-year-old son, Deepanshu, who lives with his mother in Orai. The

CO stated that the deceased's brother, Virendra, stated that Mata Prasad was

living in Orai. Therefore, how his body arrived here is a matter of serious

investigation. Currently, the Rampura police station has sent the body for a

post-mortem examination and is investigating the cause of suicide. The CO

stated that further action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and

other evidence.
