AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami makes sudden trip to Delhi amid alliance tensions

Chennai, 07 January (H.S.) : The General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Edappadi K Palaniswami, popularly known as EPS, embarked on a sudden trip to Delhi on Wednesday afternoon. The visit comes at a critical juncture when political circles are rife with speculation regarding an urgent summons from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) central leadership.

According to reports, EPS departed from Chennai on a flight at 2:30 pm and is scheduled to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah tonight. The move follows a period of perceived friction within the alliance, especially after EPS did not meet Shah during the latter's recent two-day visit to Tamil Nadu.

While some sources suggest the trip is intended to finalize seat-sharing arrangements for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the AIADMK leadership has presented a different version of events. Party insiders deny any urgent summons, stating that the leader is traveling to Delhi on his own accord.

According to this version of authority, the primary objective is to submit a comprehensive dossier of corruption allegations against the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government to the Union Home Minister. EPS is accompanied by senior party leaders including KP Munusamy and C Shivashankaram, while SV Velumani had already reached the national capital.

The high-profile meetings are expected to address both the internal dynamics of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the strategy against the ruling state government. This political maneuvering is being closely monitored as it could significantly impact the electoral landscape of the state.
