Mau,

06 Jan (HS): A significant security alert on the Gorakhpur-Lokmanya Tilak

Express triggered havoc on Tuesday after a bomb threat was received. Security

personnel, commanded by SP, moved quickly to intercept the train at Mau

station. Following the entire evacuation of passengers, emergency workers

conduct a thorough scan of the coaches.

As

a precaution, all passengers were instructed to disembark while security

officers conducted a thorough, carriage-by-carriage examination. A security

alert rocked the Gorakhpur-to-Mumbai (Lokmanya Tilak Terminus) service in the

middle of its voyage, causing the long-distance express to come to a halt for a

complete tactical sweep.

A

multi-agency security search is still in full swing, with local police, the

Government Railway Police (GRP), and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) working

together. The specialist units are undertaking a thorough examination of the

facilities to rule out any potential threats to public safety.

Train

attendant Liaquat Ali said, We received information at Mau station to

evacuate the train. There was a bomb threat on board. The train was traveling

from Gorakhpur to Lokmanya Tilak.

Superintendent

of Police Elamaran said that the GRP received a call. Responding to this call,

the train was stopped at Mau station. A search of the train revealed no

explosives, and the train is departing. There is no panic. The situation is currently

under control, and the administration says that further action will be taken as

new information emerges from the investigation.
