Mumbai, January 6 (HS): With the objective of providing better quality, accessible and effective healthcare services to people in rural and tribal areas of Thane district, the ‘Sanjeevani’ project is being implemented under a CSR collaboration between Making The Difference NGO and PPFAS Mutual Fund. As part of the initiative, two primary health centres in the district have been upgraded.
Under the project, each primary health centre has been equipped with over 70 essential medical equipment and healthcare supplies. These upgraded facilities are expected to directly benefit more than 100 patients who visit the centres daily. The initiative is being seen as a significant step towards strengthening the healthcare system in rural areas.
Speaking on the occasion of the upgradation, District Health Officer Dr Gangadhar Parghe said that four primary health centres in the district have so far been upgraded through Making The Difference NGO. He said the modern medical equipment provided with the support of PPFAS Mutual Fund and MTD would help in delivering improved healthcare services, and expressed hope for similar initiatives in the future.
PPFAS Mutual Fund Chief Marketing Officer and Head–Communication Shailendra Pandey said the organisation has been working with Making The Difference NGO for the past three years. He noted that instead of only providing financial assistance, the project focuses on identifying the actual needs of primary health centres and supplying equipment accordingly, ensuring benefits reach people in remote and underserved areas.
PPFAS Mutual Fund App Development Manager Lunar Sutar said the support extended under CSR reflects the organisation’s social responsibility, adding that it is a matter of pride that these efforts are contributing positively to the community.
The total value of equipment provided to the primary health centres is ₹50 lakh. The facilities include laparoscope, ICU beds, stretchers, baby warmers, tables, chairs, medicine trolleys, deep freezers, refrigerators, televisions, cupboards, oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders, operation instruments and functional beds.
