Lucknow,
06 Jan (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath frequently honours
Bhartendu Harishchandra, the Father of Hindi Literature, by attending events,
unveiling statues (such as one at Bhartendu Natya Akademi), and citing his
nationalistic contributions, emphasizing the importance of Hindi and indigenous
culture in line with Harishchandra's vision for Uttar Pradesh's self-reliance
and cultural pride. The CM emphasizes
Harishchandra's demand for 'Nij Bhasha Unnati' (development via one's own
language), promoting Hindi as a unifying force and linking it to national pride
and self-reliance. Adityanath relates Harishchandra's legacy to efforts such as
'Vocal for Local' and One District One Product (ODOP), which promote local
crafts and craftsmen as part of a larger vision for a self-sufficient India.
He
praises Harishchandra's significant, brief life, pointing out how his works
supported nationalism and purity in Hindi, as opposed to subsequent language
mixes caused by invasions. Yogi Adityanath employs the famous figure of
Bhartendu Harishchandra to promote cultural nationalism, linguistic, and
economic independence in Uttar Pradesh and India.
In
