BJP brings fresh faces to Hooghly organizational unit


Hooghly, 06 January (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party has constituted a new district committee for the Hooghly organizational district. An official list was released on Tuesday, announcing the names of district office bearers and district executive committee members for the period 2024 to 2027. These appointments will be effective immediately.

According to the released list, Gautam Chatterjee has been appointed as the president of the Hooghly organizational district. Eight vice-presidents have also been appointed, including Arupa Samanta, Swaraj Ghosh, Sumana Sarkar, Krishnendu De Sarkar, Shyamal Biswas, Partha Bhattacharya, Somnath Maitra, and Gopal Upadhyay.

In addition, Suravi Chatterjee, Sandeep Sadhukhan, Sudipta Bhattacharya, and Joy Raj Paul have been appointed as general secretaries. Priya Patra, Mili Guha Thakurta, Somnath Das, Kaushik Das, Mita Dhar, Saudip Ghosh, Tarapada Ghosh, and Reena Pramanik have been given the responsibility of district secretaries.

The party has appointed Sudipta Ganguly as treasurer and Abhijit Roy Chowdhury as office secretary. Susanta Saha has been made media in-charge, Sonu Das as social media in-charge, and Sachin Singh as IT in-charge.

This list of appointments has been approved by Hooghly organizational district BJP president Gautam Chatterjee. According to party sources, the formation of the new committee will help strengthen the organization at the grassroots level and accelerate preparations for the upcoming electoral challenges.

The newly announced committee includes only six old office bearers, while most of the other faces are new. This clearly indicates that the party has taken steps to rebuild the organization and strengthen it at the grassroots level.
