Washington/Caracas, 04 January (H.S.): Venezuela's crisis has reached an extraordinarily grave turning point, with U.S. President Donald Trump claiming that America has arrested Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro through a massive military operation and currently holds control over Venezuela.

According to Trump, America will shoulder Venezuela's responsibility until the political and security situation there normalizes.Trump's Steadfast Control PledgeTrump stated in a press conference after the Venezuela operation that this action was entirely pre-planned and showcased an unprecedented display of America's military might. He said that since the Second World War, hardly any country has executed a military campaign at this level.

Praising American soldiers effusively, Trump said such bravery, speed, and precision no other country in the world can demonstrate.Trump emphasized that America does not want the Maduro government to return to power through any new face and continue the old system. Until power transfers correctly and stably, America will keep Venezuela's responsibility in its own hands.

Oil and Energy as Core Issue

When questioned in the press conference how military intervention in a South American country aligns with his 'America First' slogan, Trump replied that this fully matches the America First policy, because America wants stable and secure neighbors around itself. He stated that Venezuela holds massive oil and energy resources, which are extremely vital for America and the entire world. America wants these resources safeguarded and properly utilized.

Defense Secretary's Backing

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also defended this action, stating that the Maduro government had already been warned beforehand. According to him, the Maduro government had to pay the price for negligence and ignoring warnings.
