04 Jan (HS): Firoz Khan, a gangster, and his two relatives were booked on
Sunday for threatening suicide and disturbing government operations in Jhinjhana
town, Shamli district. The decision came after a video appeared on Saturday
showing Firoz Khan threatening suicide at his home after tying a chain to his
hand, purportedly to put pressure on the police. Firoz Khan, a history-sheeter,
had his property seized by police under the Gangster Act a while back.

Narendra Pratap Singh told reporters that police had lodged a complaint under
sections 218 (resistance to taking of property by lawful power of a public
official), and 221 (obstructing public worker in execution of public duty).
Moreover, In this case, the cops charged the gangster, his relatives Umer Khan,
and a woman named Shobi with 223 (disobedience to a duly promulgated order by a
public servant), 226 (attempt to commit suicide to compel or restrain the
exercise of lawful power), 351 (criminal intimidation), 353 (statements
conducing to public mischief), and 111 (organised crime) under BNS.
