Kolkata, 04 January (H.S.): The West Bengal BJP unit issued a post on the social media platform X on Sunday, levelling serious allegations against the Mamata Banerjee government in the state. Sharing headlines from various media outlets on X, the party stated that the headlines appearing today are not from 1946 but from 2025-26, reflecting the current situation in the state.

According to the BJP, the only crime of those allegedly being targeted is maintaining their religious identity. The party alleged that under Mamata Banerjee's rule, a situation resembling West Bangladesh is gradually becoming a reality in West Bengal.

In the post, the BJP also claimed that the trends of Islamic radicalism seen in Bangladesh are now becoming visible in West Bengal, and violence and extremism against Hindus are increasing in the state. The party expressed concern, comparing the situation in both regions.

However, the BJP also stated in its message that just as the people of Bengal have raised their voices against injustice and oppression in the past, they will not tolerate any form of slavery or injustice now.

Following this statement by the BJP, a fresh round of sharp political rhetoric is expected in the state.
