Kolkata, 04 January (H.S.): The Bengal BJP shared a post on the social media platform X on Sunday, levelling serious allegations against the state's Mamata Banerjee government. The party claimed that a Booth Level Officer (BLO) from the tribal community in West Bengal was allegedly attacked by a Bangladeshi national.
According to the BJP, Bimli Tudu Hansda, who belongs to the tribal community and works as a BLO, was attacked by a man named Abdul Rahim Gazi. The party alleged that the attack occurred after Bimli Tudu Hansda exposed Abdul Gazi as a Bangladeshi national.
The post stated that Bimli Tudu Hansda had informed her superiors that Abdul Gazi was allegedly trying to register his name in the voter list through fraudulent means. The BJP claimed that upon learning this, the accused beat the BLO with a shoe, while his wife created a disturbance at her home.
The Bengal BJP alleged that tribals in the state are constantly subjected to humiliation and violence, and their situation has worsened under the Trinamool Congress government. The party also claimed that alleged illegal Bangladeshi nationals, whom the BJP referred to as Mamata Banerjee's vote bank, are now attacking the tribal community as well.
Calling the incident a gross violation of human rights and dignity, the BJP stated that under Mamata Banerjee's rule, alleged illegal Bangladeshi nationals have been given free rein to openly attack Bengalis.
However, the TMC did not bother to respond till the time of filing this report.
