Guwahati, 4 January (HS): The traditional Bagurumba dance will be performed at Sarusajai Stadium on January 17 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting Assam’s rich cultural heritage.

Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma shared on social media that the preparations are currently in full swing in Chirang district, where nearly 600 dancers from Kajalgaon and Bijni are engaged in rigorous rehearsals for the grand performance. The artistes are practising intensively to present a synchronised and visually captivating rendition of the iconic Bodo folk dance before the Prime Minister and other dignitaries.

The performance is expected to be one of the major cultural highlights of the event, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of Assam’s indigenous traditions on a national stage.---------------
