Kochi, 04 January(HS) : Kottayam based Baselios Marthoma Mathews III, head of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, popularly known as Comrade Mathews, has come out with a new historical revelation capable of turning the history of India upside down.

Mathews has claimed in his social media page that the Hindus are foreigners and came to India from European countries after 52 CE.

According to Mathews, Christians reached the sub-continent much earlier and hence the Hindus cannot claim the status of the original residents of India.

The statement of Mathews has been made in the backdrop of a media blitzkrieg that Christians are under attack in India and various “militant” Hindu organizations are behind the attacks. The heads of various Christian denominations want unfettered freedom to forcibly convert Hindus to Christianity as part of their mission to annihilate Sanatana Dharma.

There is an apprehension among the followers of Sanatana Dharma about the possibilities of Comrade Mathews making further claims about Lord Ayyappa of Sabarimala. “There was an instance of some evangelists claiming the gullible believers that Lord Ayyappa was a Christian whose original name was Iyppe. They had also claimed that Villwamangalam, a monk who lived in Kerala in the 17th century and authored Sree Krishna Karnamritham, was a Christian whose original name, according to evangelists, was William de Magalathumadom, a Nadar Christian.

The Church is fighting with its back to the wall as historical and archaeological proofs say that St Thomas has not set his foot in India.

Ishwar Sharan, a Canadian born theologist has found out that St Thomas is a myth and has never visited India.

The book “The Myth of Saint Thomas and the Mylapore Shiva Temple” authored by Sharan demolishes the claim of the Church that St Thomas visiting India is a manufactured history.
