Chennai, 03 January (H.S.) : Following the successful completion of its previous event in Tirupur, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is now gearing up to organize a major zonal Women's Wing conference titled Vellum Tamil Pengal in the Delta region.

The party officially announced on Friday that this significant gathering will take place on January nineteen in Thanjavur, which is considered a traditional stronghold for the ruling party. This move is part of the party's broader strategy to demonstrate its organizational strength and mobilize support across different geographical zones ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

Chief Minister and party president MK Stalin is scheduled to deliver a special keynote address at the conference, highlighting the government’s achievements and future goals for women’s empowerment. The event will be conducted under the leadership of Kanimozhi, the party's Deputy General Secretary and a prominent face of the Women’s Wing.

DMK Principal Secretary KN Nehru will preside over the proceedings, while other senior leaders including General Secretary Duraimurugan, Treasurer TR Baalu, and several Deputy General Secretaries are expected to participate in the high-profile meeting.

The ruling party has been actively holding zonal-level conferences to prepare its cadre for the electoral battle. After hosting successful events in the northern zone at Tiruvannamalai on December fourteen and in the western region, the focus has now shifted to the Delta districts.

Party authorities stated that these conferences serve as a platform to energize the grassroots workers and showcase the party's widespread influence. Following the Thanjavur event, the DMK is also planning to host a similar zonal meeting in the southern region with Madurai as the central hub.
