
New Delhi, 03 January (H.S.): Sindhudurg Airport in Maharashtra's Konkan region received approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Saturday for 24-hour operations, including during low visibility and adverse weather conditions. This certification marks a significant upgrade for the airport, commercially operated by IRB Infrastructure Developers since October 2021.
Advanced IFR Certification with RNP Procedures
The DGCA has certified the airport for Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) operations, enabling safe aircraft movements even amidst poor visibility or inclement weather. The approval encompasses satellite-based Required Navigation Performance (RNP) procedures alongside backup navigation aids, ensuring year-round reliability for all aircraft types with secure landings and dependable flight operations.
