Bulandshahr,

03 Jan (HS): Two males have been detained in connection with the murder of a

five-year-old child, authorities said on Saturday. Raju, a native of Balrampur

district, and Veeru Kashyap, of Lakhimpur Kheri district, were apprehended in

an encounter near Sikandrabad police station. They were found in possession of

illegal firearms and cartridges.

Tejveer

Singh, Superintendent of Police (Rural), stated that late on Friday evening,

police got information that a female was critically hurt in a village under the

jurisdiction of Sikandrabad Police Station. After obtaining the information,

the police and the girl's relatives sent her to the community health center for

treatment, where physicians confirmed her dead. A case was opened following a

complaint submitted by the girl's father.

In

his complaint, the father claimed that the two young men who lived on rent in

the same building as him and his family were responsible for the murder. The

father reportedly voiced concern that the men had raped the girl. Three squads

were established to apprehend the suspects. Following this, it was learned that

the accused were hiding in an under-construction site on Kanwara Road. Based on

this information, the police encircled the accused, resulting in an incident. Raju

and Veeru were shot in the legs during the confrontation and detained as a

result. According to authorities, after preliminary interrogation, the suspects

admitted to their role in the event. Singh stated that further investigation is

underway to identify the motivation for the murder.
