New Delhi, 02 January (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday morning urged Indians to move forward with firm resolve, drawing inspiration from a verse of the Mahabharata. He extended his New Year wishes, expressing hope that every citizen achieves success through unwavering determination and strong willpower.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister wrote, “My heartfelt wish is that in the coming times, you achieve success in all your endeavors. With steadfast resolve and willpower, may every resolution of yours be fulfilled in this New Year.”

Along with his message, Prime Minister Modi also quoted a verse from the Mahabharata (Udyoga Parva, 135/29):

“Utthātavyam jāgratavyam yoktavyam bhūtikarmasu,

Bhaviṣyatītyeva manaḥ kṛtvā satatam avyathaiḥ.”The verse translates to:

“One must rise, stay awake, and engage in noble deeds. Keeping the firm belief that ‘my goal shall indeed be accomplished,’ one should continue to act without distress or hesitation.”
