
New Delhi, 17 January (H.S.): Both benchmark indices of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain open for trading on February 1, this year’s Union Budget presentation day, despite it falling on a Sunday.
The Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange have informed investors that trading will proceed during regular hours, affording market participants an immediate opportunity to react to the budget announcements.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the central budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on that day.In a circular to investors, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) specified that a live trading session will occur on February 1 in accordance with standard timings due to the central budget presentation.
According to the circular, the pre-open market will commence at 9:00 AM and conclude at 9:08 AM, followed by regular trading from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM.Similarly, the BSE has issued a circular declaring February 1 a special trading day, with markets operational during normal business hours.
