Liverpool Goalkeeper Hit with Six-Match Ban Over Racial Abuse Probe

London, 17 January (H.S.): The England Football Association (FA) has imposed a six-match suspension on Liverpool goalkeeper Rafaela Borggraefe for making racist remarks, as confirmed by coach Gareth Taylor on Friday ahead of Sunday's Women's Super League (WSL) clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

British media reports indicate the FA launched an investigation in September against Borggraefe, accusing her of using offensive and discriminatory language toward a teammate, whose identity remains undisclosed.

Taylor informed reporters that the 25-year-old, who joined Liverpool in July and has featured in three WSL matches, has already served five matches of the ban during ongoing fixtures, rendering her unavailable for this weekend but eligible thereafter.

We are pleased this matter has reached closure, providing full clarity as we move forward, Taylor stated, noting the punishment coincided with competitive games. Liverpool currently languishes near the bottom of the WSL table.
