Bhubaneswar, 17 January (H.S.): In a major relief from the intense cold gripping several parts of Odisha over the past few days, temperatures have started rising in Jharsuguda and Keonjhar due to the impact of a western disturbance.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier forecast that the cold wave conditions would continue until January 17. However, the current western disturbance moving across the region has slightly weakened the cold spell.

According to the latest weather data, Jharsuguda’s temperature increased by 2°C, recording 8.8°C in the early hours of the morning. Similarly, Keonjhar witnessed a rise of 1.2°C, with the minimum temperature reaching 10.6°C at 5:30 AM, bringing some respite for residents.

Meanwhile, the state capital Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 12°C at 5:30 AM.
