16 Jan (HS): Manas Mishra (35), a relative of Muzaffarnagar District Magistrate
Umesh Mishra, succumbed to burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a camp in
Sector 5 of the Magh Mela area on late Thursday night. He was admitted to a
hospital for treatment.

Mela Superintendent of Police Neeraj Kumar Pandey said on Friday that a fire
broke out in a camp located in Sector 5 of the fair area on Thursday night.
Upon receiving the information, fire brigade personnel arrived with fire
engines and the fire was quickly extinguished. Manas Mishra, a resident of
Lilapur village in the Sarai Inayat police station area of Prayagraj
district, suffered burn injuries in the fire. He was immediately admitted to
Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. The
body was sent for post-mortem. Upon learning of the accident, family members
rushed to the hospital. Police conducted the post-mortem on Friday morning and
handed over the body to the family for cremation.
