Bhubaneswar, 15 January (H.S.): The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday suspended two sitting MLAs from the party with immediate effect for alleged anti-party activities.

The decision was announced through an official order issued by BJD president and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Those suspended are Arvind Mohapatra, MLA from Patkura constituency in Kendrapara district, and Sanatan Mahakud, the legislator from Champua in Keonjhar district. Arvind Mohapatra is the son of former minister Bijoy Mohapatra.
