
Guwahati, 15 January (HS): The Assam Pradesh BJP has extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will arrive in the state on a two-day visit starting January 17 with a strong message of development. Addressing the media, State BJP Media Panelist Ashish Bharali said every visit of the Prime Minister brings new developmental initiatives for Assam.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will flag off India’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper Train between Guwahati and Kolkata, inaugurate two Amrit Bharat trains, and lay the foundation stone for a new railway line connecting Kokrajhar with Gelephu in Bhutan. He will also attend a grand cultural programme where nearly 10,000 Bodo artists will perform the traditional Bagurumba dance at Sarusajai, Guwahati.
The Prime Minister will further lay the foundation stone for the ₹6,900-crore Kaziranga Elevated Corridor, aimed at strengthening wildlife conservation. The BJP stated that under the NDA government, Assam has witnessed unprecedented infrastructure development, with Prime Minister Modi having visited the state and the Northeast over 35 times, reflecting the Centre’s strong commitment to the region’s progress.---------
