Bhubaneswar, 15 January (H.S.): A youth lost his life after accidentally falling into an open drain in the Odisha capital on Thursday. The incident occurred at the Saliasahi slum area of the city.

The deceased has been identified as Sinu Gagarai, a resident of Saliasahi, sources said. According to reports, the youth slipped and fell into a newly constructed drain in the locality, sustaining serious head injuries in the process.

Local residents immediately rushed to his rescue and shifted him to Capital Hospital in a critical condition. However, doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
