New Delhi, 13 January (H.S.): Global markets are sending positive signals today. U.S. markets succeeded in closing stronger during the previous session. Dow Jones futures are also trading with gains today. European markets closed with mixed results in the last session.

Meanwhile, Asian markets are witnessing mixed trading today.The previous session in U.S. markets was marked by an atmosphere of enthusiasm, enabling Wall Street indices to close with strength. The Dow Jones bounced nearly 600 points from its day's low to close.

Similarly, the S&P 500 index came very close to the 7,000 mark. This index reached 6,977.31 points with a 0.16 percent gain at the end of the previous session's trading. Likewise, the Nasdaq ended the prior session at 23,736.22 points, up 0.27 percent. Dow Jones futures are currently trading at 49,616.72 points with a 0.05 percent increase.

European markets saw mixed trading during the previous session. The FTSE index closed at 10,140.70 points, up 0.16 percent. Similarly, the DAX index gained 143.70 points, or 0.57 percent, to end at 25,405.34 points. On the other hand, the CAC index closed at 8,358.76 points, down 0.04 percent.

Asian markets are showing mixed trading today. Out of nine Asian markets, indices in six are trading in the green with gains, while three indices remain in the red with declines. Gift Nifty is trading at 25,780 points, down 0.31 percent. Similarly, the SET Composite index is down 0.19 percent at 1,239.83 points, and the Shanghai Composite index is trading at 4,163.84 points with a symbolic 0.03 percent decline.

On the positive side, the Straits Times index is up 0.44 percent at 4,787.83 points. Likewise, the Taiwan Weighted index has risen 136.45 points, or 0.45 percent, to 30,703.74 points. The Nikkei index has made a strong leap today, currently up 1,667.11 points, or 3.21 percent, at 53,607 points.The Hang Seng index is up 291.52 points, or 1.10 percent, at 26,900 points.

Additionally, the Jakarta Composite index is trading at 8,946.20 points with a 0.69 percent gain, and the KOSPI index is up 0.54 percent at 4,649.59 points.
