
Silchar, 10 January (HS): Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police of Silchar Police Station in Assam’s Cachar district arrested three drug peddlers and seized a large quantity of morphine during an anti-narcotics operation.
According to information released by the Cachar Superintendent of Police’s office on Saturday, the operation was carried out in the Kachudaram PT-IV, Ganguly area under Silchar Police Station limits. During the raid, police recovered 1.357 kilograms of morphine from the possession of the accused.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ruhul Alam Laskar (41), Moinul Haque Laskar (53) and Sirajul Haque (36), all residents of Cachar district.
Police have registered a case in connection with the seizure and have initiated legal proceedings. Further investigation is underway to trace the wider drug trafficking network, and the three accused are being interrogated in detail.-------------
