Bareilly,
10 Jan (HS): Uttar Pradesh Deputy
Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya launched a scathing attack on the
opposition during his visit to Bareilly on Saturday. He said that those who
used to siphon off 85 paise in a rupee are now talking about honesty and good
governance, while under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the
country is fighting a decisive battle against corruption. The Deputy Chief
Minister categorically stated that those who commit crimes and corruption will
not be forgiven under any circumstances.
Taking aim at the Congress
party, Keshav Maurya said that before advising others, the party should reflect
on its own past actions. The public knows everything and is in no mood to spare
the corrupt. Attacking Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, he said that
his mental balance has deteriorated after the Bihar election defeat and he
needs treatment. He claimed that the Samajwadi Party will suffer a crushing
defeat in the 2027 assembly elections.
The Deputy Chief Minister said
that misleading someone can win an election once, but not repeatedly. After the
2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP has won in Maharashtra, Haryana, Delhi, and
Bihar. Now, the BJP will again form a government with a landslide majority in
West Bengal and in Uttar Pradesh in 2027.
Upon
reaching Bareilly, Keshav Maurya first met with the family of the late Faridpur
MLA, Prof. Shyam Bihari Lal, and expressed his condolences. He then spoke with
reporters at the Circuit House and discussed various issues.
