
Kolkata, 10 January (H.S.): Kolkata Police have busted a fraud racket operating under the guise of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and arrested five people from different states. Police officials provided this information on Saturday.
According to the police, acting on a tip-off, East Jadavpur police conducted a raid on Friday night and apprehended the suspects from a residential building in Nitai Nagar, on the outskirts of Kolkata. The police are now investigating who else is involved in this fraud syndicate.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Amit Khan, Rathin Siddhi, Mohammad Nazimuddin Siddiqui, Vishal Shinde, and Madhusudan HR. According to the police, Rathin Siddhi, Nazimuddin Siddiqui, Vishal Shinde, and Madhusudan HR are residents of Karnataka, while Amit Khan is from Bihar.
The police said that all the accused were living in a rented house in East Jadavpur police station area and were operating the fraud from there, luring people with the promise of loans under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. The police are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter and are searching for other individuals connected to this network.
