Guwahati, 10 January (HS): The Panbazar Police of Guwahati carried out separate operations and arrested two drug peddlers with suspected heroin.

According to Assam Police Headquarters, acting on specific intelligence inputs, a team from Panbazar Police Station conducted an operation near the No. 2 Railway Gate in the Lakhtokia area and apprehended one Rohit Boro (21), a resident of North Guwahati in Kamrup district. During the search, police recovered six plastic vials containing suspected heroin weighing 8.6 grams from his possession.

In another operation, the Panbazar Police team arrested one Shafique Ali (36), a resident of Dhirenpara, Guwahati, from the No. 4 Railway Gate area. Police recovered six plastic vials containing suspected heroin weighing 7.8 grams from him.

Separate cases have been registered in connection with both incidents, and police have launched intensive interrogation of the accused persons.-----------
